- Level 1-10: 9:00 - 11:50 a.m. on Saturdays (three 50-minute classes with two 10-minute breaks)
- Phonetic Class: 9:00-11:40 a.m. (three 40-minute classes with two 20-minute breaks)
- Preschool: 9:00-11:30 a.m
- Preschool (Apple/Cherry classes): New students must be 3 years old by 8/31 and potty-trained.
- Phonetic Class: New Student must be 4 years old by 8/31.
- A copy of the birth certificate or passport is required at the time of registration.
1. Returning Families (In-person or Mail-in)
Starting 3/7/26: Pick up the registration package at the office.
- In-person:3/14/26 to 5/2/26, 9:30 - 11:30a.m.
- Confirm/update family and student information, sign the registration form, and record yourFamily ID for future Parent Volunteer Service sign-up.
- Mail in: 3/8/26 to 8/15/26 (based on postmark.)
- No registration by telephone.
Note: All enrollment for the returning students is guaranteed only if registered by 5/2/26.
2. New families (No registration by phone)- Step 1 - Online Registration
- New families must register first via online registration (link opens in April).
- Print the completed form before coming to campus.
- Step 2 - In-person registration & Interview
- Held on 4/25/26 or 5/2/26, (Saturday, 9:30am - 11:30am) at Interlake High School.
- Students must attend with one Mandarin-speaking parent/ family member.
- After May 2nd, 2026
- If you cannot attend the above dates, you may mail in your application starting 5/2/2026.
a) Returning Family:
- Returning families: Completed registration form. If adding a new sibling, include their info on the same form and provide a copy of their birth certificate/passport
- Proof of payment (by Zelle or submit a physical check)
- One check with the correct total amount to: Seattle Chinese School or

Payment Methods:
Payment can be made via Zelle or by writing one check for the total amount(Tuition + Other Fees).Note: If a check is returned by the bank for insufficient funds, the family is responsible for all associated bank fees and the outstanding balance.
- Annual Tuition (per student): $510 for Preschool to Level 10
- Other Fees ($240 per family) include:
- Registration Fee $30 (If siblings register at different times, the registration fee will be charged separately for each instance.)
- PTA Membership $10
- Volunteer Service Deposit $200
- Sibling Discount:Starting from the second child in the same family, each student receives a $10 tuition discount.
- Early Bird Discount (Returning Families Only):Returning families who register by 3/28/26 receive a $20 discount per student.
- New families are not eligible for the Early Bird discount.
- New families must pay by check only. Zelle is not accepted for new registrations.
- The check date must follow the instructions provided by the registration staff.
VIII. Volunteer Service and Service Deposit
- Families who complete 10 hours of volunteer services will receive a refund of their $200 services deposit at the end of the school year. Parents must agree to the service regulations and fulfill the required hours to be eligible for the refund.
- NOTE: The following are mandatory and do not count toward the 10-hour service requirement
Classroom Duty: If requested, parents must assist in class. In small classes, multiple rotations may be required.
Classroom Roles If no one volunteers as Room Parent or Treasurer, the PTA will randomly appoint roles via fair draw. Selected parents must serve regardless of deposit forfeiture.
- Parents are responsible for using the online volunteer platform to browse available school service projects and sign up for specific tasks and time slots.
- Volunteer registration opens before the start of school in September. All positions and time slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration and modifications for all roles will close two weeks prior to the scheduled service date.

- Eligibility for returning students to be promoted to the next grade is determined by their academic performance and attendance records from the previous school year.
- Students are placed by the school administration based on class capacity and student age.
- New students’ admission results and class assignments are decided based on the school’s available enrollment capacity.
- Transfer students are required to take a placement test; class assignments will be made based on the test results and the student’s age.
- School opening notices will be emailed to parents at the end of August.
Class transfer requests must be submitted in writing by parent(s) with appropriate reasons. Requests will only be granted under the principal, vice principal, registrar and other pertinent school administrators’ approval. Transfer must be completed within three weeks after school starts.
XI. Transfer students
- Students with prior Chinese school experience or homeschooling are required to complete a placement test/interview for proper grade level assignment
- No transfer students will be accepted after the 4th week of school year, except the following conditions:
- Recently moved to Seattle area
- Passed an interview and review by school administrative staff.
- The target class has not reached its maximum capacity.
- Consent from the class teacher
- Fees for Transfer Students:
- First Semester Transfers: Full annual fees will be charged.
- Second Semester Transfers: 50% of the annual tuition will be charged, but all “Other Fees” must be paid in full. Please refer to the relevant fee schedule for details.
- Refunds: Any refund request will be handled according to the “Refund Policy.”
- The $30 registration fee is not refundable.
- Return the textbook set unmarked. If the textbook / practice book are marked, parents need to pay for the textbook fee and may keep the textbook set.

Procedures for Withdrawal and Refund Request
- Application Process: Complete the online "withdrawal form" for processing by the Registrar and Finance departments.
- Refund Methods & Timelines: Refunds are issued via Zelle (2-4 weeks) or Check (6-8 weeks) once the application is processed and approved.
- Mailing & Reissue Policy: Please verify your mailing address for check payments; if a check is lost and requires reissuing, a $30 stop-payment fee will be charged to the family.
